IWD 5.0 - Lore and Stories (Jerrod's Stone)

A tale of sacrifice and faith, of a shaman of Tempos sacrificing himself for the many.

In the lands north of the Spine of the World, the tribes of the Reghedmen and Uthgardt lived freely and fiercely independent. Ann archmage named Arakon attacked Icewind Dale seeing this fractured land as a great opportunity to establish his power. The fractured barbarians were destroyed in battle after battle. Eventually a warrior and shaman of Tempos, the barbarian god of battle, came forward and gathered the clans into an unified force.

This new force was able to beat back Arakon. Desperate to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat he recklessly opened a portal to Baator. The jaws of defeat turned into to the maw of hell as fiends poured forth slaying all who stood in their path, including Arakon. Seeing the carnage across the field, Jerrod was given a vision of a man standing upon a hill alone. Understanding this as a sign from his god, he plunged through the ranks and dove into the portal. His blood flashed out white, and when all could see again, the portal had been sealed and in its place hovered a stone disc with the image of Jerrod with arms outstretched.

This is now found under the temple of Tempus in Easthaven. It is guarded and protected by the Order of the Broken Blade. None but those of the clerics of Tempus may gain access to the stone.
